The Battle of Blood River

December 16, 1838

by Pastor Mark Downey

There are those who would reduce Blood River to secular history, but the Holy Spirit will not permit me to ignore the divine ramifications and the miraculous destiny that our Lord has planned for His people, Israel. This is the extraordinary story of God delivering the Boers of South Africa in a one day battle against the fierce and unrelenting Zulu's in 1838.

If we do not truly rejoice in God, for what He is in Himself, and that because of all the perfections which are eternally resident in Him, then how dwelleth the love of God in us? Each of us needs to be most prayerfully on his guard against devising an image of God in our thoughts which is patterned after our own evil inclinations. Of old the Lord complained, "Thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself" Ps. 50:21.

"If Thou, LORD, shouldest mark [impute] iniquities, 0 Lord, who shall stand?" Ps. 130:3. We might ask ourselves this question for it is written, "The ungodly shall not stand in the judgment" Ps.1:5. Three out of four believers do not stand in the 'Parable of the Sower' (Luke 8:4-14) because of different grounds representing the heart or soul of people who come under the hearing of the Word. 75% of the ground is unfruitful and they remain so because the Holy Spirit did not cultivate them prior to hearing the Word.

Going Dark; Coming to the Light

by Pastor Mark Downey

The ramifications of the church going apostate; falling away from God's law.

Part 1 "Going Dark":  Social and biblical aspects of what the metaphor of darkness implies from the historical record to current events; the jewish complicity of generating ignorance and decadence contributes to the demise of White civilizations.

Part 2 "Going Lite":  Another Gospel and another Christ diminishes the genuine Gospels and the true Christ by removing the seriousness, substance and complexities of Scripture.  Take to its logical conclusion, the Lite Church and/or Christian leads to physical and spiritual defilement.  New revelations about the brain reveal our relationship with God.
